Abstract: Background Veda, the ancient Indian Philosophy, has the concept of special sounds. The Mandukya Upaniñad explains about the sound “A”, “U”, “M” and “AUM” or “OM”. The form of “OM” is the cosmic sound and the origin of all other sounds. It is Mantra itself (Krishnamacharya, 1983; Kumar, 2000; Baijnath, 2008). In Hindu culture, Mantra been used for Yajñäs, a performance of sacrifices into the God and they believed that god, good health, good fortune and victory over one’s enemies can be attained by chanting the right Mantra (Chawdhri, 2012). Aim and Objectives The aim of this work is to know the basic concept of Mantra and its subtle energy according to the ancient Indian scriptures.
